Imagine: Through The Eyes Of... is packed full of resources to help your pupils write from another point of view. It's a fantastic cross-curricular activity that allows your pupils to become anyone or anything!

From pets and family to being homeless or an endangered species, you can keep it light-hearted or take the opportunity to tackle bigger issues and put empathy into practice. 

There are lots of additional online resources to support your pupils' learning, check them out - you'll find they can easily be adapted to fit your current topic too.

We also have Poetry Stars open for this age range, feel free to mix and match resources and ideas, you know what will inspire your pupils most!

[Rules] =>

Only one entry per pupil, there is no limit to the number of entries per school. Teachers please submit your entries altogether where possible!

Ask your pupils to write their poem (or an adult can scribe/type it), ensuring their name, age and school name are included.

Poems can be on any of the entry forms or an A4 sheet of paper or typed (on a computer or in the Online Writing Portal).

Pupils' poems must be their own work!

Poems can be written in any style and on any theme.

The school that submits the best overall set of entries will win The Young Writers' Award of Excellence and a £100 National Book Token for their class.

PLUS every participating school receives a free copy of the book their pupils feature in!

Writing from someone else’s point of view doesn’t have to be tricky! Your pupils just need a bit of inspiration and visual prompts are a fantastic way to do this:

• Check out these 8 birds’ eye views! Flying over these would be amazing! Your pupils could be a bird, a dino, a superhero...
  
  
• What if your pupils were king or queen for the day?
  
  
• It’s one small step for man... Imagine being an astronaut at the moon landing or discovering a new planet or life form!
